After printing these counting blocks, cut them out and then use them to help figure things out in different base counting systems such as while doing Alien Arithmetic. Print up a set of base 10 blocks for children too young for the concept of other bases. They make great homework aids for approximately first through fourth graders as they can be used to reinforce concepts of place value and face value, as well as borrowing and carrying, multiplying and dividing with and without remainders, as well as decimals.
