Age
According to the Karonen method: maximum heart rate = 220 − your age unless you have
had a stess test to determine your maximum heart rate. In that case use 220 minus your maximum heart rate for your age
instead of your real age.
Resting Heart Rate
Measure your resting heart rate first thing in the morning before you begin
moving about and on days when you are not startled awake by an alarm or anything else. Count the number of heart beats
in a minute. Update your resting heart rate frequently as your fitness levels change.
