Goal Calculator
So you've looked at the prediction calculator and you're unhappy with the time it says you should set for yourself. You decide you want to run faster in some shorter races so that you can get the predicted time you desire. This calculator will help you decide what kind of goal you should set for yourself in a short race in order to achieve your desired goal in a long race. Be careful not to overdue it on racing. You don't want to burn out before your main event. Click on Start Line or Schedule above to look for classes that give you guidelines on training. Note that this calculator is not a training calculator in that it is not designed to tell you what pace you should train at in order to prepare for an event. It is simply designed to tell you what you ought to be able to run a race in, inorder to be able to achieve your desired time in another race. For example, if you can't run a 7:40 pace for a 10k race, then you probably aren't going to be ready to run an 8 minute pace for 10 miles. The calculator is probably not as accurate for sprints, since most world class distance runners are not also world class sprinters, however I included sprint distances, just for fun. Enter the distance you are training for and your desired time for that distance. |
